Super Bowl LIX celebrates the Black Masking Indian culture and second line traditions of New Orleans, with a joyful spirit unique to the Crescent City.
The logo, typography, patterns and graphic elements are all a reflection of the kinetic and vibrant energy felt on
every corner.
The logo was hand-beaded by Queen Tahj, a member of the Golden Eagles Tribe.
She brought the spirit of New Orleans to life through her intricate, handsewn beadwork, which reflects her Black Masking culture and combines her tribe's heritage with the vibrant energy of Super Bowl in the Crescent City.
Photography by Katelin Kinney, Ben Liebenberg. Post Production by Marin Retouching.
A handwritten script was created to add a layer of expression and a freestyle nature to various type lockups and team names. They were drawn (many, many times) first with marker on paper, and then scanned and vectorized.
